What can you do at the B1 level?

At the B1 level you can understand the main points of clear standard language and familiar topics related to work, school, leisure, etc. You can express yourself simply and coherently on familiar matters. You have a good understanding of the main grammatical structures correctly.

How is the exam structured?

The telc German B1 examination consists of a written and an oral section. The written examination takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. Before the oral examination you have 20 minutes preparation time.

Reading Language Elements (vocabulary and grammar) – 90 Min
Listening – 30 Min
Writing – 30 Min

Oral exam

Preparation time – 20 Min
Oral exam usually in pairs – 15 Min
