Computer-Based German Exam for Study in Germany

The digital version of TestDaF was developed by the TestDaF Institute and introduced in October 2020. It is an advanced test and is aimed at German learners with a B2-C1 level. The TestDaF certificate fulfils the language requirements of universities and other higher learning institutes throughout Germany.

TestDaF Digital takes place in a certified test center, using modern computers. Answers are typed into modern computers, with listening comprehension and speaking taking place using noise-cancelling head-sets. Answers are transmitted using secure browsers and with extremely high levels of exam security directly to the TestDaF Institute. In the case of technical problems, the exam may be repeated.

The digital TestDaF examines the 4 central language skills of reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing and speaking. Tasks are based on communicative situations and texts typical for universities and other tertiary institutes.

Marking TestDaF takes approximately 4 weeks. The certificate with results can be downloaded and printed directly from the TestDaF Candidate Portal.
